It’s a year since Arsenal and Liverpool showed an interest in signing Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi, according to Transfermarkt.

The youngster is one of Europe’s emerging young talents and 12 months down the line the Premier League duo should prepare to revive their interest.

Adeyemi caught the eye during the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Liefering, scoring 13 goals and registering a staggering 19 assists in all competitions.

This season hasn’t been quite as fruitful. Adeyemi has only started four league matches, scoring twice and claiming four assists.

The brilliance of Patson Daka has seen him play second fiddle more often than not this year and he failed to make a Champions League start.

Barcelona have previously had a bid of £13 million rejected for the youngster and it’s unknown what his valuation is right now.

It seems likely that Adeyemi would welcome a move to either Arsenal or Liverpool.

During an interview with Goal in April 2020, Adeyemi said his aim was to be on the pitch with the world’s best players.

If he was to sign for Arsenal or Liverpool he’d certainly complete that element of ambition.

Jurgen Klopp’s team are one of the best in the world and have enjoyed amazing success over the last two years.

They have a stunning squad and they’ve also enjoyed success with bringing through younger talents.

Options

Arsenal are struggling this season and languish in 15th place in the Premier League.

Having tasted the Champions League with Salzburg, Adeyemi could be put off by Arsenal’s lack of time at Europe’s top table in recent years.

That shouldn’t stop them trying though.

Adeyemi is versatile, skilful and ultimately knows where the back of the net is.

He could be a future star in years to come and both English clubs should prepare to chance their arm again.
