In a season where Manchester City have been swiping away all comers, French side Lyon can now take a lot of pride in their displays against the English champions. Lyon managed to force a 2-2 draw with City last night. Only Wolves and Liverpool have also managed to stop City from winning this season. In fact, Lyon have already gone one better. The French side are the only team to have beaten City this season.

One of the key reasons for that success is a player City are reportedly interested in, along with Everton.

Tanguy Ndombele is attracting interest across the continent for his exceptional displays in the heart of Lyon’s midfield. Ably assisted by Houssem Aouar, that was the case last night.

Ndombele was superb throughout, just as he was in the 2-1 win for his side earlier this season.

The Liverpool Echo has reported this week that Everton have joined a host of clubs in scouting the £40 million-rated French international. Chief scout Martyn Glover has reportedly been to watch Lyon this season and Everton are hopeful they can pull off a coup with his transfer.

Now the 21-year-old has managed to dominate the City midfield twice in one season it will be no surprise to see more names join the race, and the transfer fee go up.

But it will have also convinced Everton that Ndombele is the man to take the Toffees to the next level.
