Tammy Abraham should snub Wolves interest and stay at Aston Villa

Tammy Abraham scored his 15th and 16th goals of the season as Aston Villa drew 2-2 with QPR.

With 16 strikes in 20 games, Abraham is the joint top scorer in the Championship.

Unsurprisingly, then, he is a January target for a number of Premier League clubs.

Although he is on a season-long loan at Aston Villa, Abraham’s parent club Chelsea might recall him and send him to another Premier League side.

The 21-year-old is wanted by Wolverhampton Wanderers, as well as Burnley and Huddersfield, according to The Daily Mail.

After scoring five times in the Premier League for Swansea City last season, he might fancy the chance to test himself in the top flight again.

But he would be better advised to remain at Aston Villa for the rest of the season. At Villa Park, he is the main man and is thriving under Dean Smith.

If he moved to Wolves, Abraham would probably play second fiddle to Raul Jimenez – initially, at least.

The twice-capped England international needs to be getting as many minutes as he can at this stage of his career.

At Aston Villa, he knows that his first-team spot is guaranteed as long as he keeps scoring goals.

Joining Wolves halfway through the season is an unnecessary risk at a vital stage of his career.
