Tammy Abraham is the man West Ham need to reach the next level
West Ham United are one of several clubs linked with a summer move for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham – and he’s perfect as the club seek to continue their rise.
The Hammers are on course to secure European football this season after enjoying a stunning campaign in the Premier League under manager David Moyes.
Something has clicked at the London Stadium and West Ham are currently ticking along nicely this season.
After selling Sebastien Haller during the January transfer window, a new striker will almost certainly be on the shortlist for the summer.
Some supporters still think that going with Michail Antonio as the only senior option for the remainder of this season could bite the Hammers on the behind.
Since the window closed their form has remained consistent though and they’re still nicely poised.
The summer will see the situation addressed though and if Abraham is available they should look to pounce.
Staying in London could be a big pull for the England striker and the chance to prove Chelsea wrong to offload him might play into his thought process.
Thomas Tuchel will be keen to reshape the squad into his own and that could see the 23-year-old deemed surplus.
Abraham is still at an age where he could improve and his goalscoring record at various clubs hasn’t been bad.
In 80 outings for Chelsea, he has found the net 30 times and claimed 12 assists for the Blues.
As an academy graduate, some supporters might prefer to see him kept around but Tuchel may have other ideas.
Chelsea’s loss could be West Ham’s gain. Abraham would certainly represent a similar option to Haller and he’d definitely provide an upgrade in terms of quality.
If the £57,000-a-week star is available this summer, West Ham need to pounce on the Premier League talisman.
