Tammy Abraham and Declan Rice have Instagram praise for Manchester City ace

Jack Grealish scored his first goal in three months on Tuesday night as Manchester City eased past Leeds United to win 7-0 at The Etihad – and he has received praise from Tammy Abraham, and Declan Rice.

Grealish, 26, had only previously scored two goals in 19 games for Manchester City. The England ace has not been at his best since joining Pep Guardiola’s side for a British record fee, worth £100million.

The weight of that fee, and playing for a new side for the first time – other than a loan at Notts County – is likely to weigh heavy on Grealish. So, scoring on Tuesday night will have relieved some of that pressure.

The City no.10 netted his side’s second, after Phil Foden opened the scoring on eight minutes. Grealish got his head on the ball from a Riyad Mahrez cross, diverting the ball past French goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

Grealish took to Instagram after the match having netted his third of the season, clearly delighted that he had finally got himself a goal – his first since the 6-3 win over Leipzig in the Champions League.

It was an excellent performance from the ex-Villa captain, as City put Leeds to the sword. His display was so good, that Raheem Sterling was forced to watch the entire 90 minutes from the bench.

Kevin De Bruyne got two and looked back to his best. Foden, Mahrez, John Stones and Nathan Ake also got their names on the score sheet – but Grealish was excellent. Abraham and Rice responded to his post.
