TalkSPORT pundits think Tottenham star Hugo Lloris was really poor last night

TalkSPORT pundits Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy both feel Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris was at fault for the goal Sporting Lisbon scored last night.

Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw by the Portuguese giants in a game of two halves yesterday. Tottenham were awful before the break, but they dominated Sporting in the second half.

The two sides had to settle for a point in the end, but if Lloris had done better, Spurs would’ve won.

TalkSPORT pundits think Tottenham star Hugo Lloris was at fault vs Sporting

Tottenham old boy Marcus Edwards was the man who came back to haunt Spurs yesterday.

The talented attacker was brilliant and his dribbling caused Tottenham all sorts of problems, but it was his strike from outside the box that helped his side take the lead in North London last night.

O’Hara and Cundy were both far from impressed with Lloris, who they feel should’ve saved Edwards’ strike in the 22nd minute of the game.

Speaking after the game, O’Hara said on talkSPORT: “I was disappointed in Spurs in the first half. We played bang average, as usual, started slow and go 1-0 down.

“Hugo Lloris has to be better from the goal.”

Cundy added: “He’s diving down like he’s got T-Rex arms. He didn’t move his feet quick enough.”

Lloris has come under a lot of criticism from fans, pundits and the media for his performance last night.

The Frenchman has saved Spurs from being embarrassed on numerous occasions over the years. The game against Manchester United last week is the perfect example, where if it wasn’t for Lloris’ heroics, Tottenham would’ve conceded five or six.

However, the World Cup winner also has a mistake in him. He was majorly involved in Callum Wilson’s goal on Sunday and was again at fault when Edwards scored last night.

Antonio Conte definitely rates Lloris highly, but we imagine he’ll be looking at a new goalkeeper to eventually replace the Frenchman, who will turn 36 in December.
