‘Pipe down’: TalkSPORT pundit rips into Tottenham fans who he ‘can’t get his head around’

TalkSPORT’s Darren Ambrose has told some Tottenham fans to ‘pipe down’ and back Antonio Conte instead of moaning about the style of play.

Tottenham are third in the PL table and won 2-0 this weekend against Everton. Despite that, some Spurs fans have become disillusioned with what some see as a defensive style of play from the Italian.

However, speaking on TalKSPORT tonight, Ambrose told Spurs fans that they need to trust in Conte, and keep quiet until things start to go wrong at least.

“I can’t get my head around why fans are moaning. Ok, some of the games are a little bit dull and if we were losing and it’s dull then fine, come on here and moan. But the fact we’re winning. Best ever start in PL history, won 13/15 home games, unbeaten at home since March, top of the Champions League group,” Ambrose said on TalkSPORT.

“This is Conte’s football this is what he brings. He wins titles and trophies playing this way. Some Spurs supporters – and I only say some – need to pipe down a bit. If we’re losing, feel free, phone up and batter Spurs say Conte’s got to go. But look, the fact we’re winning, third in the league, still in the Champions League, you’ve got to back this style of play, got to back Conte for me.”

TBR’s View: Conte Critics Are Baffling

Darren Ambrose is spot on here. Sure, things aren’t always easy on the eye but Tottenham are flying and at the moment, well in the title race.

Their form in Europe has been ok as well, and Conte is getting the maximum out of a team who still lack the squad depth of other sides in England.

For now, Conte is getting results so there simply not a lot Spurs fans can do here other than ‘pipe down’ as Ambrose puts it.
