'He loves an excuse': TalkSPORT pundit slams 'ridiculous' Jurgen Klopp following Liverpool's draw at Fulham
TalkSPORT regular Jamie O’Hara has hit out at Jurgen Klopp after the Liverpool manager criticised the Fulham pitch this weekend.
Klopp bemoaned what he called a dry pitch at Craven Cottage for impacting his Liverpool side’s ability to play their very best football. It was the latest in a long line of gripes Klopp seems to have had in recent times, with the German building a bit of a reputation as being a serial moaner.
And addressing Klopp’s concerns on TalkSPORT earlier today, former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara believes Klopp is being ridiculous in his comments.
“It’s ridiculous. He’s making excuses and he loves an excuse Jurgen, and fair play to him he gets away with it quite a lot,” O’Hara said.
“I’ve played for Fulham at Craven Cottage and that pitch is immaculate. It’s one of the best pitches you’ll ever play on. They even water the pitch at half-time. I mean it’s hot so it’s going to dry out, but come on. Fulham backed themselves and played really well. They went after it. Liverpool were lethargic, weren’t at the races, and Fulham capitalised. The excuses about the pitch, it’s just nonsense.”
TBR’s View: Liverpool Start Slow And Cannot Blame Fulham Pitch
Klopp is getting bordering on looking silly at times now. There is defending your team and taking the heat off them, and then there is coming out with what some will conceive as utter rubbish.
O’Hara is bang on here in calling Klopp’s excuses out. Liverpool simply weren’t at it and Fulham deserved the result they got.
Liverpool will be better and they’ll to be if they want to have success. But if an excuse culture is creeping in after one game, then it could be a long old season for Klopp and the media.
