TalkSPORT regular and former Premier League striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor, has claimed that Tottenham ‘keeper Hugo Lloris is over-rated.
Lloris has amassed more than 400 appearances in a Spurs shirt and is a World Cup winner with France. He will go down as a legend in North London and given he’s the current captain, the respect within the club is clear.

However, ahead of Tottenham facing Everton this weekend, Agbonlahor has said that if he had to choose he’d go with Jordan Pickford over Lloris and believes the Spurs stopper isn’t quite as good as some say.
“Pickford. I’m not a fan of Lloris to be honest. I don’t think he’s as good as people think on the ball,” Agbonlahor said on TalkSPORT Edge ahead of this weekend’s games.
Certainly, one of the issues Tottenham face in future seasons is getting a long-term replacement through the door for Lloris. Despite the odd mistake this season, the Frenchman remains Conte’s main man in the sticks, with the experienced Fraser Forster instilled as back up.
Spurs are likely to have to spend big to replace Lloris, and they could end up following a similar path to that of Man City and Liverpool, who splashed out on Ederson and Alisson.
TBR’s View: Lloris Has Been Class For Tottenham
Interesting take this one from Agbonlahor but there is no doubt that Hugo Lloris is a world class goalkeeper who has been magnificent for Tottenham.
Like any goalkeeper, he’s had his moments and there have been times when Spurs might have thought about replacing him.
But he’s fought off a number of challengers already and the fact is no one has been as good as him yet. Lloris will take some replacing at Spurs, and it will end being big money to do so.
