TalkSPORT pundit says he would have West Ham player over Tottenham ace Kane
Jason Cundy has told TalkSPORT that he would take West Ham United ace Michail Antonio over Tottenham striker Harry Kane, at the moment.
Kane, 28, is struggling for form at the moment – with many putting his lack of league goals and assists down to his failure to secure a summer exit.
The England skipper has scored three times this season, but two have come against Pacos de Ferreira in Europe – and one at Wolves in the League Cup.
Meanwhile, £7million (Mail) signing Antonio is pushing for an England call-up after a blistering start to the season – shining under David Moyes.
Ex-Tottenham defender Cundy was asked about Kane during a session on TalkSPORT, and the pundit says he would rather Antonio right now.
“Oh God yeah, without question,” Cundy said, on Antonio over Kane. “That’s not even up for debate, right now. If Lukaku couldn’t play for Chelsea.
“You gave me Kane or Antonio to replace him, to put on that blue shirt, I’m not picking Kane – I’m going Antonio. Every single time.
“I’d have Ivan Toney over Harry Kane. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Kane is not in form,” Cundy added.
Is West Ham ace Antonio better than Tottenham man Kane, right now?
Without a doubt. If you were a newbie to football, and you watched Antonio and Kane in the first six of games of the season – you are picking Antonio.
The 31-year-old, playing in the mould of Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku, is shining. Six goals and three assists in six games this season is incredible.
But of course, Cundy is renowned for having unusual opinions and most football fans – in their right mind – would be picking Kane over Antonio.
Even Antonio, would pick Kane over himself. But there is no doubt that Antonio is in better form – and he deserves a place in the England side.
