Gabriel Jesus was the talk of the town for Arsenal again this weekend and TalkSPORT’s Tony Cascarino has been singing his praises.
Jesus once again produced a fine performance as he helped dismantle Bournemouth. The Brazilian didn’t get on the scoresheet this time around but his display at the top of the pitch was something to behold for Arsenal fans.
The Gunners paid around £45m to bring him in from Manchester City this summer. And according to Cascarino, it could turn out to be some of the best money the club has ever spent.

“If we’d have watched Gabriel Jesus there and not thought about City, then we’d be saying he’s one of the best strikers in the world. Because he clearly is, watching him in those first three games of the season,” Cascarino said on TalkSPORT.
“He’s such an unselfish player. His energy and workrate for the team is extraordinary. I watched him at Real Madrid once and he played left wing. He was fantastic. He didn’t stop trying his socks off and he’s also so technically gifted. We’re looking at a striker Arsenal have got so cheap. How have they paid £45m? That £45m will probably be up there with one of the best £45m’s they’ve ever spent.”
TBR’s View: Jesus Signing Of The Season So Far
It takes a special player to influence a team in such a short space of time but Gabriel Jesus hasn’t half left his stamp on things at Arsenal at this early stage.
The Brazilian has been nothing short of sensational and the comments from Cascarino here are bang on. If Jesus can continue playing like he is, then the Gunners will be more than in the mix for the top four.
Of course, they’ve not had a huge test as yet against one of the big boys. But Mikel Arteta will be confident his side can produce, especially with Jesus leading the line.
