‘Absolute steal’: TalkSPORT pundit in awe of one Arsenal signing and can’t believe Chelsea didn’t sign him

TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has lauded Arsenal’s signing of Gabriel Jesus and questioned why Chelsea didn’t buy him.

Jesus has made a fine start to life as an Arsenal player, helping the Gunners to the top of the table with some inspired performances at the top of the pitch. He is known to have improved the quality and intensity of training and alongside fellow ex-City player Oleksandr Zinchenko, is driving Arsenal forward.

And speaking about the different signings in the transfer window this summer, Agbonlahor told TalkSPORT that he feels Jesus will be the best striker at Arsenal since they had Thierry Henry.

“10/10. Absolute steal. Chelsea could have got Gabriel Jesus but they got Cucurella. Make it make sense. What he’s going to do for Arsenal. Best striker they’ve had since Thierry Henry for me. I rate him that highly,” Agbonlahor said.

Of course, living up to an Henry comparison is quite the challenge. But Jesus will relish the chance to impress everyone at The Emirates and will see it as his duty to score goals and bring success.

Whether or not Arsenal can realistically challenge for a trophy remains to be seen but they have given themselves a fine chance of competing by signing Gabriel Jesus.

The striker looks to have completely changed the mentality of how Arsenal’s squad goes about its business and there is a real belief around the club right now.

Agbonlahor is right to rate the signing as 10/10 so far. Jesus’ impact cannot be understated and if he continues to produce the goods like he is doing right now, then there is every chance the Gunners win something.
