'He's extraordinary': TalkSPORT pundit thinks Liverpool have a midfielder who is the 'most gifted player' he's ever seen
TalkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino has been waxing lyrical about Liverpool midfielder Thiago today and claimed he is one of the best the Premier League has ever seen.
The Spanish midfielder has become the heartbeat of the Reds midfield alongside Fabinho and was in fine form once again as Liverpool saw off Manchester City yesterday. Thiago was always available for the ball and with Fabinho and Jordan Henderson alongside him, he helped dictate the game for Klopp’s men.
And speaking about Thiago on TalkSPORT today, Cascarino has claimed that the Spaniard is right up there with his technical ability in terms of the best the league has ever seen.
“Thiago’s an amazing footballer. There’s very few players who are so gifted. I would have him as probably the most gifted player I’ve seen in the Premier League – as in technique – he is extraordinary,” Cascarino said.
“We’ve all seen loads but Thiago is up there with the very best. Ever. Technically, he’s up there with the very best. Technically he has got everything. If he plays a lot of football, Liverpool will be close. If he has injuries, then Liverpool will suffer without Thiago in this team.”
Thiago has struggled with a couple of injuries since his arrival from Bayern but he is expected to play a key role once again this season.
TBR’s View: Few Better Than Thiago When Fully Fit
The best the league has ever seen is a bold claim from Cascarino but the best right now is not far from being wrong.
Thiago has a bit of everything in his locker and it’s little wonder he’s been with Barca, Bayern, and now Liverpool and been so, so impressive.
As Cascarino says, if Thiago remains fit, then Liverpool win things. If he’s out injured, then Klopp has a bit of a problem on his hands.
