Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club posted behind-the-scenes footage of Martin Ødegaard’s presentation.
What’s the story?
Well, the 12-second footage showed Ødegaard holding up his new No.8 shirt, a change from the No.11 he wore whilst on loan from Real Madrid.
As Mikel Arteta walks out of the room, he can clearly be heard saying: “Be careful with that number.”
Of course, Arteta also wore the No.8 during his five-year stay at the Emirates Stadium, where he won the FA Cup on two occasions.
Ødegaard doesn’t only have Arteta to worry about. Icons such as Ian Wright, Freddie Ljungberg and Aaron Ramsey have also worn the No.8 shirt for the Gunners.
No pressure, Martin!
Good to see Mikel Arteta’s interaction with Martin Ødegaard

Ever since he replaced Unai Emery, Arteta has come across as a cold figure.
It’s probably due to the immense stress he’s been under in his first managerial role, as results haven’t been great since he joined from Manchester City.
Nevertheless, even in good spells, the Spaniard has often seemed robotic in press conferences, so it was good to see a warmer side to him in the 12-second footage.

Not to excuse some of the vile abuse Arteta receives, but if he were to show this side a little often, perhaps fans would be more sympathetic towards him.
Having said that, you can understand why he hasn’t wanted to show a smile over the last year or so.
Nevertheless, let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about the 12-second footage…
