Thibaut Courtois has hinted that Gareth Bale is unsettled and unpopular at Real Madrid, according to Belgian outlet HLN, via the Daily Mail.
Courtois has shed some light on Bale’s unwillingness to dine with the rest of the team – claiming the mealtime was too late – and his nickname as the Golfer because of his penchant for the odd 18 holes.
A picture is painted of a player who is not particularly happy, settled or valued at the Bernabeu and that is always going to give rise to the possibility he may leave Madrid.
Joe reported three years ago that Bale’s former club Tottenham have a first refusal clause that lasts until the end of June 2019 where they can match any bid from an English club that comes in for the Welshman.

Time is running down on that particular clause and even if Bale is struggling out in Spain, there are a fair few hoops to go through before he is back in north London.
The Independent reported in May that Bale was willing to take a pay cut to come back to Spurs, but the sums of money involved are still likely to be huge.
Negotiating with Madrid while it is not clear who their new permanent manager is going to be – and while there is still a question mark over Mauricio Pochettino’s future – is always going to be tricky.
