A number of Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to praise Phil Foden’s performance in last night’s Premier League victory.
The 20-year-old was in inspired form against Southampton, setting up both of Kevin De Bruyne’s goals en route to a 5-2 win at the Etihad.
Foden could have also had a penalty when he was brought down by Alex McCarthy, but referee Jon Moss decided it was not a spot kick and VAR decided not overturn the official’s verdict.

Despite the controversial decision, City dominated their opponents and bounced back in style from their derby defeat at the weekend.
Pep Guardiola’s side led 3-1 at half time as De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan scored for the hosts, while James Ward-Prowse scored a penalty for Saints.
Mahrez then grabbed his second of the game on 55 minutes and, though Che Adams struck back almost immediately, De Bruyne re-established City’s three-goal lead before the hour.
And while Mahrez was City’s standout player on the night, plenty of fans were eager to praise Foden for a performance that should really get him to keep his place in the XI.
