'Talented': Steven Gerrard names the three Liverpool players he's really warned his Aston Villa side about
Ahead of tonight’s crucial game, Steven Gerrard warns Villa about Liverpool trio Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz, in an interview with Sky Sports.
Gerrard is facing his old club on a night where the Reds need to win to keep their title hopes going having slipped three points behind Manchester City at the weekend.
Gerrard’s Villa said have got to play City on the final game of the season so the Villans could yet have a major say in the title race.
Liverpool’s front three of Salah, Mane and Diaz was brought up in the interview and Gerrard said those three players have formed a ‘big part’ of his preparations.

“Of course, those three players have been a big part of our preparations,” said Gerrard of Salah, Mane and Diaz.
“In a game of this magnitude, you’ve got to try to stifle and limit those talented players because if you give them time and space and neglect them, they are very capable of hurting you.
“But they’re not the only three. When you’re talking about the top teams at the top end of the Premier League, normally they are littered with top international players.
“That’s the size of the challenge, but at the same time, if you can manage to get the best out of your team, if your top players can step up and everyone can go above and beyond, nothing is impossible.”
Of course, the whole Liverpool team are worth worrying about but the frontline are the ones who can really hurt you and they will be fired up tonight after a frustrating evening on Saturday.
That said, Liverpool have now struggled in the first half against Villarreal and then in the whole game against Spurs and they need a response.
It was Tottenham players getting most of the plaudits this weekend, and Liverpool’s players can offer a reminder of their quality tonight and put the pressure straight back on City in the process.
