New Liverpool signing, Takumi Minamino, has revealed that a host of other clubs wanted to sign him in January.
The Japanese star made the move to Anfield at the beginning of the window. He’s been an immediate hit for the Reds, too, filling in nicely for the regular front-three of Firmino, Salah, and Mane when needed.

A bargain-buy – Minamino cost around £7.25m – Liverpool will be delighted with their latest recruit.
And Minamino revealed that while there was other interest, the lure of playing for the Reds was too much to resist.
“The reason why I chose to come to Liverpool was that playing for Liverpool was one of my dreams since my childhood, so I had no reason to say no to them,” he said. (Daily Star, via Sky Sports)
Minamino will be hoping to bring some success to the club. He is, of course, on course to grab himself a Premier League winners medal in his first season.
But he called on the past of the club and its top players as a key reason behind his love for the club.
“I like Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres and Liverpool was one of my favourite clubs growing up.
“I was very impressed with their strong mentality to come back from 3-0 down and I remember how they played in that second half [against AC Milan in the 2005 Champions League final],” Minamino added.

In a day and age where so much of the game revolves around money and greed, this is a refreshing stance from Takumi Minamino.
He simply wants to play for Liverpool because of their history. Success, too, in recent years has obviously influenced players like Minamino.

It’s easy to forget that the 2005 final he mentions is now 15 years ago. That means Minamino will have been a young boy watching at the time. It’s easy, then, to see how he’s been influenced.
Minamino will undoubtedly be a success for Liverpool based on his start with the club. The Reds fans, too, will also be loving his attitude towards the club.
