Arsenal star Takehiro Tomiysasu has told DAZN Japan, via The Mirror, that he thought he was heading to Tottenham in the summer.
The Japan international has now claimed that he rejected their advances on transfer deadline day.
Tomiyasu also says that it took no time at all for him to accept a move to Arsenal instead.

Their loss was Arsenal’s gain and as a result, he’s delighted the fans by claiming he rejected Tottenham.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the media in his own country, Tomiyasu has cleared up how the summer panned out.
He told DAZN Japan: “I thought I wasn’t able to join Arsenal. I thought I was going to Spurs.
“On deadline day I rejected them. Arsenal asked me to join and I did immediately.”

It’s early days but what a tremendous signing Tomiyasu is proving to be for Arsenal.
He’s quickly nailed down a place and his heading qualities have been a joy to behold from right-back.

The player can also operate at central defence, although right now he’s starring at full-back.
Tomiyasu has penned a deal worth £40,000-a-week at Arsenal and after he rejected Tottenham it looks like money well spent for the Gunners.
