Takefusa Kubo is not the only La Liga player Everton want to sign, and his club actually want to sell to David Moyes

There is a distinct La Liga theme to recruitment at Everton this summer.

The Toffees have already splashed £27.6m to sign Thierno Barry from Villarreal, and Everton continue to have eyes on the Spanish market as those on Merseyside now target a deal for Real Sociedad No.14 Takefusa Kubo.

A move for the Japan international – who captains his country – could be tough, due to the fact he has a £52m release clause in his contract.

However, a deal for another La Liga player in Samuel Lino seems far more realistic for Everton.

Atletico Madrid eager to sell Samuel Lino to Everton as Takefusa Kubo saga goes on

AS in Spain now claim that Atletico Madrid are looking to sell the Brazilian this summer, and Everton are ready to bring the South American to the Premier League.

The Spanish news outlet actually state that Diego Simeone’s side would welcome an agreement with the Toffees, with Lino now surplus to requirements at the Wanda Metropolitano – despite making 21 starts in La Liga last season.

Reports elsewhere in Spain state that Atletico Madrid want to raise funds to sign Ademola Lookman – who Everton sold to Atalanta back in August 2022.

Lino – a left winger – made 47 appearances in all competitions last term, scoring four goals and providing eight assists.

Everton also pushing to sign a new central midfielder

Not only do Everton want to improve the wide attacking areas, but the centre of the pitch is being considered too.

TBR Football understand Everton want to sign Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough, although Crystal Palace are confident they will win the race for the England U21 international.

Aside from the Middlesbrough No.7, Everton are also looking at Douglas Luiz as Juventus aim to sell the Brazil international – who scored 20 goals in 175 Premier League appearances for Aston Villa before his move to Turin in June 2024.
