'Take the money': BBC pundit says Tottenham already have a player who can replace Harry Kane
BBC pundit Garth Crooks believes Son Heung-min is ready to take over from Harry Kane and become Tottenham Hotspur’s main man.
Spurs hosted Leicester City yesterday and they had to win to put the pressure on Arsenal, who played after them. Antonio Conte’s men didn’t have the best of starts, but a goal from Harry Kane before the break eased the nerves.
In the second half, Tottenham were excellent. Dejan Kulusevski came on for the final 35 minutes and the Swede was on another level compared to everyone else on the pitch.
Kulusevski set up Son twice for his two goals and that helped Spurs pick up a hugely important win.

Garth Crooks: Son Heung-min can take over from Harry Kane at Tottenham
In his Team of the Week column on BBC, Crooks wrote: “Two goals by Son Heung-min may have put Spurs momentarily back into the top four but if they don’t stay there, speculation will inevitably return over the future of Antonio Conte and Harry Kane.
“Tottenham’s refusal in the summer to ‘take the money and run’ is starting to look like bad business.
“Son is quite capable of taking over Kane’s mantle, the question is how long can Spurs keep Conte when he is constantly being linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Top four is vital if Spurs are to keep the Italian.
“As for Son, he is going nowhere.”
Son is an incredible player and is up there with the best in the league. The South Korean has scored 20 goals and has provided nine assists in 41 appearances this term, which is a truly remarkable return for a winger.
Tottenham fans sure are glad they have a player like Son in their squad, but is the former Bayer Leverkusen man really ready to replace Kane as Spurs’ main man? We don’t think so.
One of the biggest reasons why Son has been so good at Tottenham is Kane, and vice-versa. Both players are brilliant for each other and it must be said that one is a lot weaker without the other.
Tottenham’s priority this summer will be to keep hold of Kane, but if they can’t, they have to bring in a prolific, world-class striker. Just asking Son to replace the Englishman would be a ridiculous decision.
