‘Take him Everton’: Some Arsenal fans want £50m star to join Benitez at Goodison Park

There are a number of Arsenal fans who are hoping that Ben White signs for Everton now.

The Sun and the Daily Mail both claim that White could join Everton, who are rivalling Arsenal in the race for the centre-back.

Everton are apparently prepared to offer more money to Brighton & Hove Albion than Arsenal have so far.

But rather than be disappointed about the news, some Arsenal fans are actively hoping that the £50 million-rated England international moves to Everton.

That is down to the fact that a number of Arsenal fans are concerned at the finances involved in the deal.

Too expensive?

Arsenal supporters’ reticence to see a transfer done at the current price is understandable.

White would become one of the most expensive Premier League defenders of all time if he was to move for £50 million.

And with only one season of top flight experience under his belt he does appear to be a gamble.

However, it is also true that White may well be an upgrade on any central defender that Arsenal or Everton currently have.

And at the age of 23, if he continues to progress, he could well make the inflated fee some good value for money in future years.
