As the new season approaches, Swansea will be aiming to bolster their side with future transfers, hoping to achieve a higher table finish at the end of the year.
Having completed the signings of Jonjo Shelvey, Jose Canas, Alejandro Pozuelo and Jordi Amat, Swansea’s recruitment scheme looks set to continue throughout the transfer period.
Here is a look at players that could be joining Swansea’s side this Summer.
Wilfried Bony – Vitesse Arnhem
Michael Laudrup has confirmed Swansea City’s interest in the Ivory Coast striker, Wilfried Bony.
Swansea have been trying to negotiate a £10 million or more deal for the Vitesse Arnhem player for over a week.
However, chairman Huw Jenkins has warned Vitesse Arnhem that they won’t wait forever.
Tom Ince – Blackpool
Swansea haved joined rivals Cardiff in the chase for 21 year old Blackpool winger, Tom Ince.
Cardiff are willing to pay £8 million for Tom Ince, a price that the Swansea boss deems to be too high for a young player.
Bafetimbi Gomis – Lyon
Swansea have held transfer talks with Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis, according to the French club’s president.
Jean-Michel Aulas says he has agreed terms with three clubs — including Swansea and Cardiff — for the sale of Gomis, but the player himself has so far refused to leave.
Nacer Chadli – FC Twente
Huw Jenkins faces a test of his newly-repaired relationship with Michael Laudrup after Swansea were quoted £8.5million for top transfer target Nacer Chadli.
FC Twente winger Chadli is widely regarded as the latest rising star of Belgium football, and Laudrup is keen to see off growing interest from rival Barclays Premier League clubs to add him to his list of summer recruits.
But an opening offer of just over £6million was flatly rejected by Twente, who are willing to sell, with 12 months left on the 23-year old’s contract, but only on their terms.
Christian Benitez – Club America
Transfer target Christian Benitez has been given special permission to negotiate his exit by Club America.
The Mexican champions had told Benitez that he needed to sort his future out by June 30 or return for pre-season, but due to the advanced stage of negotiations with an unnamed club, the 27-year-old has had this period extended.
Ecuador international Benitez previously had a brief, up-and-down spell in the Premier League with Birmingham City.
But since returning to Mexico, the livewire forward has flourished, netting 30 goals last season as his side ran out winners of the Clausura.
Michy Batshuayi – Standard Liege
Swansea have made a £2.5m move for Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi.
Reports in Belgium have stated the Swans have had a 3m Euros bid – around £2.57m – rejected as they continue their striker hunt.
But there are suggestions the Swans could land the teenage hot prospect with an improved offer.
The 19-year-old hit 12 goals for Standard in the Belgian top-flight as they finished fourth and qualified for Europe.
Matej Vydra – Udinese
Swansea City, West Brom, West Ham and Sunderland have all made moves to land Udinese striker Matej Vydra on loan.
The Czech international, 21, scored 24 Championship goals on loan at Watford last season and his agent, Ondrej Chovanec, revealed on Tuesday that a temporary move back to Britain is on the cards after the collapse of his proposed transfer to Werder Bremen.
