Tottenham completed the signing of Wales international Joe Rodon on Friday’s transfer deadline day – and some Swansea City fans on Twitter voiced their disappointment to losing the defender.
Spurs completed the £11m signing (BBC) of Rodon from Championship side Swansea as he makes the step up to the Premier League for the first time in his career and he’s penned a four-year contract.
The 22-year-old is a ball-playing centre-back had some injury problems last season, but when fit he was a key part of the Swansea XI at the Liberty Stadium and he looks ready-made to perform in the top-flight.
He’s a modern day defender that is extremely confident with the ball at his feet and on top of that he could become a real favourite with supporters due to the fact he loves to throw his body on the line of shots, something he often does for his country Wales.
Rodon started the season strongly with unbeaten Swansea in the Championship, but has now left to pursue a career in the Premier League and he’ll got to work under manager Jose Mourinho.
A selection of Swansea fans have shown just how highly they rate the centre-back by expressing their disappointment with his departure, with the size of his transfer fee their main issue as they feel he’s been allowed to go on the cheap:
Sold in the cheep again. You need to get a backbone and hold out for his true value.

We have developed an unerring knack of selling gold at silver prices. Muppets!

Fuming you might as well have gave him away. When you look at other average players going for stupid money you’ve just given our last big asset away for peanuts. No players to even go with deal no loan back #disappointed

Truly one of the most disappointing transfers in the club’s recent history. Not why the player went, but for how much he went for. Spineless.

Shame the club couldn’t get the fee he is worth. Good luck to the Joe but the owners and chairman should be ashamed of themselves.
