AC Milan are reportedly considering the sale of Spanish winger Suso, which should surely be music to the ears of struggling Tottenham Hotspur.
Tuttosport have reported this week, as relayed by MilanNews, that the Rossoneri are seriously considering the Spaniard’s sale in January.
The Italian side are looking to make a significant sale in January in order to meet FFP regulations.
Suso has struggled to come to terms over a new contract at the San Siro and, therefore, Milan are preparing for his potential exit. The report states that Suso has a €40 million release clause but the club are fully aware they will not receive that much for him considering current form and their willingness to move him on.
Tottenham Hotspur have, of course, been linked with the 25-year-old in the past. Last December it was reported that Tottenham were keen on a January move for the player, as reported by CalcioMercato.
In 2017, it was reported that Tottenham had seen a bid for Suso rejected by Milan. As reported by talkSPORT and CalcioMercato a bid totalling €22 million (then £19.4m) was rejected for Suso and Tottenham moved on.
So there is clearly something to this Tottenham and Suso link.
Given the club’s current struggles Suso could be a brilliant recruit, capable of playing anywhere across a front-three. Tottenham should certainly consider revitalising their previous reported interest.
