The Europa League have named their Team of the Week on their official Twitter account and a surprise Rangers player has been included following the Gers’ 1-0 win over Feyenoord.
Sheyi Ojo scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half with a stunning left-footed strike that flew padst Feyenoord goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer. The Gers really should have won the match by more.
Scott Arfield hit the bar while James Tavernier missed a penalty. In the end, Rangers had goalkeeper Allan McGregor to thank for a number of excellent saves, including a one-on-one towards the end of the match.
Alfredo Morelos won the man-of-the-match award while Filip Helander, Ryan Jack and McGregor were all excellent during the win, but the Europa League’s page picked Croatian defender Borna Barisic in their team of the week.
Arsenal trio Calum Chambers, Bukayo Saka and Emi Martinez were also chosen, as was Axel Tuanzebe of Manchester United.

TBR’s view – Barisic becoming the player Rangers had hoped
Last season, it was a very difficult season for Barisic. A decent chunk of money was spent on the Croatia international, but he failed to repay such a fee as Gerrard chose to pick the likes of Jon Flanagan and Andy Halliday were picked ahead.
But this season, the former NK Osijek left-back has been in stunning form and his display against Feyenoord was probably the best in a Rangers shirt. Indeed, he won the ball back and gave Ojo an assist for his goal.
