Rangers manager Steven Gerrard should think about giving forgotten man Carlos Pena a chance in the first-team, rather than look to move him on.
Pena is heading back to Ibrox after colourful loan spells back in his homeland of Mexico with Cruz Azul and Necaxa.
Pena informed supporters of the news of his loan termination two months early via his social media.

Signed by former manager Pedro Caixinha in the summer of 2017 for £2.2 million, the midfielder only made 14 appearances before following the sacked manager back to Mexico and Cruz.
There, Pena struggled to stay focused and became embroiled in a number of alcohol-related incidents.
He then joined Necaxa but his stint has been ended up two months early, and now new manager Gerrard has a decision to make.
Gerrard should take a chance on Pena
Given the way Gerrard has breathed new life into the football club, and pretty much overseen an improvement in every player he has worked with so far, it can be argued that Pena should be given a second crack with the Scottish giants.
Gerrard supposedly has his transfer targets already identified ahead of January, but Pena is already a Rangers player a could still have something to offer.
The 28-year-old looked like a handy player at times last season under Caixinha, and perhaps Gerrard is the man bring that player out again.

He could well strike up a good South American partnership with Alfredo Morelos.
It isn’t really known what kind of condition he is in, but workhorse Gerrard would not stand for any poor attitude and really could be the making of Pena in the Premiership.
