Tottenham and Everton are likely to be two clubs that will bring in one or two more players this summer. Spurs might need a striker with Harry Kane’s future still in doubt. But it is another Tottenham player that Everton want in England midfielder Harry Winks, according to the latest reports.
Winks, 25, endured a tricky 2020-21 campaign in which the England man was a fringe player in midfield. Having previously been a regular in the starting line-up, Jose Mourinho preferred the likes of Gio Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele in midfielder – alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
He does have three years left on his contract at Spurs but the chances are that he could leave this summer. Fabrizio Romano says Everton hold an interest in Winks, though Winks is happy to remain at Tottenham. But, should Tottenham take advantage in Everton wanting Winks?

Winks, Calvert-Lewin, Everton, Tottenham – another sprinkle of Paratici magic?
A recent report from journalist Pete O’Rourke says Tottenham are keeping tabs on Kane’s England back-up in Dom Calvert-Lewin. Talking to The Football Terrace on YouTube – O’Rourke said this month: “He’s definitely on Tottenham’s radar. Tottenham see him as potential replacement material.”
Fabrizio Romano has just said that Manchester City are ready to increase their offer for Kane by £27million – to £127million. So, Spurs need to be looking at a replacement more closely than ever and Calvert-Lewin makes sense. The Sun claim he is rated at £80million right now.
So, with Everton wanting a Tottenham player in Winks and Tottenham potentially needing Everton star Calvert-Lewin – a deal is there to be had. Paratici has already secured a player-plus-cash deal involving Erik Lamela and Bryan Gil. Surely it makes sense to do it for a second time?
If Spurs and Everton are intent on signing Calvert-Lewin and Winks, then adding Winks into a deal for Calvert-Lewin makes sense. Given Calvert-Lewin is rated at £80million, including Winks would surely reduce that price to little over £50million? A move that suits all involved.
