Erik Lamela has had a mixed season so far at Tottenham and unfortunately for him he may just be on a dip prior to the north London derby.
Spurs make the short trip to Arsenal on Sunday in the Premier League and it’s the one fixture in the season that everyone in the squad would love to play.
Lamela was displaying some dazzling form and confidence last month, as he scored goals in games West Ham and Barcelona.
The Argentina international has six goals in 15 appearances across all competitions this term and is certainly back after his long-term injury problems.
But he found himself on the bench for the 3-1 win over Chelsea last weekend and failed to really send out a message with the chance he got in midweek in the Champions League victory against Inter Milan.

Lamela may have needed a big European display to convince manager Mauricio Pochettino he has to start against Arsenal and he certainly didn’t deliver that, as he lacked the final ball and also picked up a booking for a dangerous tackle.
The 26-year-old winger is going to have spells in and out of the team all season due to his inconsistent nature, meaning he may be on the bench for the biggest game of the season.
Spurs were at their very best against Chelsea, which is why Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Heung-Min Son are surely all above him in the pecking order as it stands.
