‘Super player’: Owen Hargreaves says you’re clueless if you don’t think 24-year-old Arsenal player is amazing

Kai Havertz is in great form, but he still isn’t everybody’s cup of tea.

Indeed, while the German is scoring for fun at the moment, he’s still not rated by everyone within the game.

Indeed, Havertz may be playing brilliantly, but he still has his critics, but speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Owen Hargreaves has gone out to bat for the German.

Hargreaves has hit back at anyone who has been criticising Havertz as of late, claiming that he worries for anyone who doesn’t see Havertz as a fantastic footballer.

You’re clueless if you don’t rate Kai Havertz

Hargreaves spoke about the Arsenal ace.

“I think he’s a super player. I always have, if your job is to watch football players and critique them and you watch him and don’t see a good footballer player then I worry for you. The problem is he doesn’t have a fixed position, he gets drifted everywhere to his own detriment,” Hargreaves said.

Unfair

We can’t help but think that Hargreaves is being a bit unfair here.

Havertz has been playing well recently, granted, but it’s more than fair to point out that he hasn’t been that good over the past few years.

Let’s not forget, this is a player that has cost over £130m in combined transfer fees between signing for Chelsea and Arsenal, and, for most of his time in England, he hasn’t looked anywhere near being worth the value that either club paid for him.

Recently, he has been very good, and if he keeps this up, his doubters will soon be silenced, but to say that anyone who doesn’t rate him doesn’t know what they’re talking about is strange, particularly when his form over the past three years has been patchy at best.

Havertz still has plenty to prove in the eyes of many.
