It appears that Sunderland have lost one of their hot prospects. The Sun is reporting that Liverpool have agreed to bring in the 15-year-old talent Luca Stephenson to their academy from the Academy of Light.
The deal is reportedly worth £500,000 for a player being dubbed the ‘next Jordan Henderson’.
This will, of course, come as a massive blow to Sunderland. The Black Cats are now in League One and developing their own talent is paramount to a successful future at this level.
Especially if Stephenson lives up to the Henderson tag.

The England midfielder, of course, came through the ranks at Sunderland. After playing 79 times for his boyhood club he left for Liverpool in 2011 in a deal worth £20 million.
He has since gone on to establish himself as a regular for the Reds and for his country, so no doubt Sunderland miss having Henderson in their ranks.
Stephenson seemingly has all the tools to go on and emulate the former Sunderland prospect.
If he goes on to be worth £20 million, Sunderland fans will be left wondering what might have been for this apparent hot talent.
