This summer Sunderland fans rejoiced as they finally managed to move Jack Rodwell out of the club. The former England international had been a massive flop at Sunderland. The Black Cats paid a reported £10 million to sign the player in 2014. However, his form and fitness deserted him at the Stadium of Light and Sunderland were overjoyed when they finally managed to get him out of the club this summer.
Based on his injury record and poor fitness from the past few seasons, it was a surprise that anybody was willing to give him a chance in the summer.
However, Blackburn Rovers eventually snapped him up on a free transfer. On a fraction of the massive wages he earned at Sunderland, Rodwell worked his way back to full fitness and into a place in the Ewood Park starting XI.

Now, he is starting to show his talent.
Rodwell has largely been used as a substitute for Blackburn so far but has thrived when given the chance.
This weekend, he came on against Leeds and was sublime in the heart of the midfield. He helped secure the win for Blackburn in an impressive home display.
Sunderland fans are certainly not sorry that they let Rodwell go. He became a vilified figure on Wearside and with good reason. But they will wonder why he could not find such impressive form during his time at the Stadium of Light, as he looks a steal for Blackburn Rovers.
