Sunderland fans react to Greg Taylor transfer rumours

Sunderland have stepped up their hunt for a new left-back with the deadline looming. According to The Daily Record, Sunderland have joined Celtic’s pursuit of Greg Taylor.

Kilmarnock defender Taylor has been attracting interest from Celtic ever since Kieran Tierney’s departure. But Sunderland are ready to compete for his signature before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Black Cats need a new left-back after Bryan Oviedo departed. Adam Matthews, who could operate at left-back, also left this summer so Denver Hume is the only recognised player in this department.

Sunderland have been linked with Sheffield Wednesday’s Morgan Fox recently, as per The Northern Echo. But Jack Ross has now turned his attention to Taylor. Sunderland have had an initial bid of less than £1m turned down by Kilmarnock, according to STV.

Killie want £3m for the 21-year-old, which is a risky price for a League One signing. But with time running out, Sunderland might be pressured into this deal. The once-capped Scotland international – who is hoping to add to his caps in the next international break – has played over 100 games already in his career so he fits the bill.

Here are some fans discussing this potential transfer.
