Sunderland fans react to Alim Ozturk’s performance against AFC Wimbledon

Sunderland’s win over AFC Wimbledon yesterday was spearheaded by an excellent display from Chris Maguire. The Scottish attacker scored a hat-trick in the 3-1 win and Sunderland fans were rightly signing his praises after the game. 

Charlie Wyke and Aiden McGeady also received plenty of praise and Sunderland looked fantastic in attack. 

However, their defenders also deserve plenty of credit. 

Alim Ozturk, in particular, has received plenty of praise online. 

The Turkish defender started the campaign out of the starting XI but has played in the club’s last four games, all of which have been wins. 

He appears to be developing a strong relationship with new signing Jacob Willis and Sunderland fans are impressed by his recent performances. While he is undoubtedly prone to the odd lapse in concentration, he has taken his chance in Jack Ross’ starting XI with 

Not only is he impressing defensively, but his cool composure on the ball is helping Sunderland transition into the attack with increasing fluidity. 

Sunderland fans will hope that Ozturk can maintain this form and help the Black Cats continue this winning run.
