Sunderland and Portsmouth played out a 1-1 draw in League One yesterday which helped neither side’s chances of automatic promotion. Sunderland are now six points behind Barnsley in second with two games remaining and an inferior goal difference. The Black Cats, will have to do battle in the play-offs.
In the end, Sunderland were unfortunate not to win the game but found Portsmouth goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray in fine form for Pompey.
Despite the disappointing end result, Sunderland fans remain in a fairly upbeat mood. Especially, it seems, toward Alim Ozturk.

The Turkish defender has recently found his way back into the first-team plans of Jack Ross and has not let his manager down.
The 26-year-old has played the last three league games and Sunderland fans have been impressed by his performances. He struggled after initially joining the club but is certainly developing something of a cult following among the Sunderland fans.
His form deserves it and he will hope he remains in the starting XI into the play-off picture.
