Saturday’s hero Benji Kimpioka was left on the bench for 80 minutes in Sunderland’s loss to Burton Albion.
Sunderland went ahead through Aiden McGeady but goals from Ryan Edwards and Liam Boyce turned things around for the visitors. Phil Parkinson’s run now stretches to just two wins in 11 games since taking over from Jack Ross.
Parkinson made the peculiar decision to stick with Will Grigg last night. The Northern Ireland striker has been in disastrous form this season, managing just one goal in the league.
Sunderland fans wanted Kimpioka

He was axed last weekend against Coventry and his replacement – Kimpioka – scored a late equaliser. But the Sweden youth international was not rewarded with a start in the side.
In fact, he was only given 10 minutes as Sunderland chased the game against the Brewers. This is a move that left Sunderland fans bemused and dumbfounded. They want to see their talented youngsters given an opportunity, especially when they have earned the chance.
Here are some tweets from disgruntled Sunderland fans after Kimpioka was left on the bench until the 80th minute.
