‘Suits Johnson’s system’: Some Sunderland fans hail 27-year-old’s ‘exceptional’ display last night
A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to praise Aiden O’Brien’s display for the Black Cats on Tuesday night.
Lee Johnson’s charges ran out 1-0 winners at Ipswich, who went down to ten men early on in the League One game.

The Blues still proved hard to break down, but Sunderland managed to get the opener in first-half injury time.
Charlie Wyke met Max Power’s cross and fired beyond the reach of Tomas Holy.
Sunderland pushed for a second after the break, weighing in with 17 shots, six on target, and dominating possession.
In the end, just the one goal proved the difference as the Black Cats edged closer to the top six.
O’Brien was arguably Sunderland’s best performer in the second half, making some great runs, linking up play well, and also trying his luck on goal.
Here is what some Black Cats fans said about the 27-year-old on social media:

Between Wyke and O’Brien for MOTM, though he can be frustratingly wasteful and I would have brought him or McGeady off for diamond, he played well today and has looked decent of late #SAFC

I thought that was such a professional performance, not always easy playing 10 men.. Wyke clinical, O’Brien’s link up play was exceptional and the defence was rock solid Sanderson tidy when he came on and that Wright / Willis partnership is fantastic.. fantastic win #safc

I feel like Aiden O’Brien has started to show his worth a bit more. He’s been much more impressive as of late. Has Lee Johnson improved him? I think he has. I think he’s doing much better. Anyone agree? #SAFC

He just suits Lee Johnson’s system far better, he’s always been good in Parkinson’s system the ball was getting pinged over his head.

Yes and I think he’s getting an understanding with Wyke
