Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has described Luis Diaz as a “great signing” for the Reds, as per the official Liverpool website.

Jurgen Klopp’s charges boasted an impressive front line even before Jota and Diaz arrived at Anfield.

Jota joined Liverpool in 2020 and Diaz followed suit earlier this year, the Reds beating Tottenham to his signature.

Both players hit the ground running at Liverpool and now form part of a truly frightening attacking setup.

Klopp can now call upon Jota, Diaz, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

The quintet have helped Liverpool win the Carabao Cup and remain in contention for an unprecedented quadruple.

On Tuesday, the Reds will welcome Manchester United at Anfield, an occasion which the visitors won’t exactly relish.

The Red Devils haven’t been in great form this season, and they lost 5-0 to Liverpool at Old Trafford in October.

In addition, Liverpool don’t look to have any injury worries for the game.

“He just fits into the team”

Diaz has made 16 appearances for the Reds to date, registering three goals and one assist.

Stats aside, he has slotted in seamlessly at Liverpool and plays as if he’s been at Anfield for years.

Scouting aside, the Reds boss and board deserve credit for changing their plans in order to land Diaz.

Liverpool originally planned to sign the Colombia international in the summer.

However, Tottenham approached Porto in January, so the Anfield hierarchy acted quickly and accordingly.

Ahead of the United match, the Reds media team asked Jota about Diaz’s impact since he arrived at Anfield.

“I think it’s pretty much up to the player’s style.

“He just fits into the team, so that’s why he was a great signing from the club.

“The energy that he puts in every single moment is what we needed as well since January.

“He is just good for us, we know that we can rely on him to bring, every time that he walks on the pitch, such a high level of energy that is a characteristic of our team.”
