In a fairly breathless display against Manchester United today, Tottenham Hotspur certainly showed a lot of their excellent qualities.
Ange Postecoglou’s side were efficient with their passing, were fast in attack, and finished their chances well.

And although Tottenham did impress at times, they still proved that they’ve got work to do defensively.
Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero were finally reunited at the back, but Spurs didn’t necessarily look more assured at the back today.
That being said, one part of Romero’s game did catch the eye.
The Argentinian displayed the full range of his passing range against Man United today, which was crucial to Tottenham’s second goal.
Speaking via the Premier League’s live match blog, pundit Jim Beglin was particularly impressed.
Beglin thought Romero’s pass was ‘stunning’, and was matched by Rodrigo Bentancur’s finish for Spurs’ second goal.
The pundit said: “Matching Hojlund’s very early goal in the first half, we’ve had a repeat. Romero produces a stunning pass and Werner turns and looks for Bentancur.
“Jonny Evans is caught out a little bit, he has to turn and look for it, and Bentancur takes full advantage – he finishes with aplomb.”
Cristian Romero still needed to improve for Tottenham against Man United today
Although Romero’s passing was on point today, he did still lack a little in his defensive actions.
The £42m defender was criticised for defending with his hands behind his back for one of United’s goals.

However, it was probably Pedro Porro who was most suspect with his decision making at the back.
Spurs probably should have ran away with three points, they dominated for much of the game, but they couldn’t afford these little lapses on this occasion.
Both Romero and Porro were outstanding with their passing for Tottenham against United today, but they will need to improve at the back.
Given the football Spurs are playing under Postecoglou this season, they do have lofty ambitions.
And it seems that the next part of their trajectory will be the art of the clean sheet.
That being said, one young Tottenham defender who’s just left on loan has started exceedingly well at his new club.
