Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to make a joke involving Cristiano Ronaldo and Odsonne Edouard, after this afternoon’s Premier League games ended.
What’s the story?
Well, all eyes were on Ronaldo as he made his first appearance since returning to Manchester United, and he certainly delivered the goods.
Manchester United’s No.7 scored twice against Newcastle to secure a 4-1 win on his debut – second debut if you like – as did Edouard.
The Frenchman netted twice for Crystal Palace as the Eagles beat Tottenham 3-0 in the early kick-off in south London.
Of course, far more people care about Ronaldo’s efforts than Edouard’s, which Lineker used to his advantage as he poked fun at the situation.

Odsonne Edouard – Premier League record breaker

Enough about Ronaldo. There’s been plenty of focus on the Portuguese forward since he returned to England, so let’s shine the spotlight on Edouard.
The £14m arrival from Celtic enjoyed a quite remarkable Premier League debut earlier, breaking a record in the process.
Having scored 28 seconds after coming off the bench in the 84th minute, Edouard scored the fastest goal ever by a player making their Premier League debut according to Opta.

Coincidentally, Thievy’s goal against Crystal Palace back in February 2014 previously held the record at 36 seconds.
Incredibly, Edouard somehow found time to score another, prodding past Hugo Lloris after Conor Gallagher picked him out superbly.
Will Edouard outscore Ronaldo this season? Only time will tell.
