Stuart Dallas return for Leeds will be a significant boost in promotion run-in

Leeds United fans should be delighted that Stuart Dallas is set to make his return from injury at the weekend against Bolton in the Championship.

The 27-year-old has been out of action since 1 December with a foot injury, but manager Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed he’s back in the squad on Saturday.

“For Stuart Dallas it was a little less hard for him to recover his sports performance fitness. He will be in the group for Saturday’s game,” Bielsa said in his press conference, as cited by Leeds Live.

His imminent return is a timely boost considering the injury blow that Kemar Roofe has suffered and the fact that Jack Clarke is currently working his way back to fitness.

Dallas is certainly an underrated player at Elland Road, but he could have a huge role to play in the club’s push for promotion.

The Northern Ireland international has an incredible work-rate and was a key player for Bielsa before his injury setback.

His versatility is a major part of his game and he could help plug many gaps during the remainder of the campaign.

Dallas could certainly fill in for struggling right-back Luke Ayling if needed and looked dependable in that position earlier in the campaign.

Meanwhile, he’s also capable of being deployed in wide areas and is a tricky winger with good delivery.

There is a real shortage of genuine wide options right now in the Whites squad and Dallas can help provide another plan.

Dallas is underrated because he’s not a world beater in possession, but he’s capable of a piece of magic and his endeavour is what’s needed to get over the line for promotion.
