Leeds United’s Stuart Dallas has explained that the club’s popular manager Marcelo Bielsa uses the method of not getting too close to the players, which is something he feels gets the best out of individuals.
The Whites certainly have a tight-knit squad at Elland Road and that helped them storm to the Championship title in the 2019/20 season to help earn promotion back to the Premier League.
They are now preparing for life back in the top-flight and begin with a trip to defending league champions Liverpool on 12 September, before their opening home fixture against Fulham.
Dallas, 29, claims that behind-the-scenes Bielsa doesn’t get too close with the Leeds players, but does drive for perfection on the training ground and it’s clear his approach has made him a massive favourite with the squad.
“He doesn’t like to get too close to the players. That’s a good thing, it seems to get the best out of the group,” Dallas told talkSPORT.
“He’s an ambitious man and I can only describe him as a perfectionist. That’s what he strives to be every day and that’s what he’s tried to instil in us. It’s exciting times to have him at the club. He’s somebody we all love working with.”

TBR’s View:
Bielsa certainly has a unique style when it comes to his man-management and the overall way he presents himself, but there is no doubt he demands 100 per cent from every single one of his players and he’s installed a fantastic belief.
There are many individuals such as Dallas, Liam Cooper and Luke Ayling that have taken their game to such heights during Bielsa’s two-year spell in charge.
The Yorkshire side will usually dominate possession and cover the most ground on the pitch, so it will be intriguing to see how they fare in the Premier League and how Bielsa will tackle the top-flight.
