Leeds United star Stuart Dallas has been talking to the Belfast Telegraph about his nation’s recent European Championships qualifying defeat to the Netherlands.
Northern Ireland battled hard and took the lead in the game through a Josh Magennis goal. Dallas hung the cross into the box which Magennis headed home as Northern Ireland looked to spring an upset.

However, the Dutch fought back with three quickfire goals to claim a 3-1 win and leave Northern Ireland’s brave qualification fight in trouble.
Dallas told the Belfast Telegraph just how painful the loss was, especially after a similar defeat against Germany in another qualifying clash last month.
“We set out at the start of the group to give ourselves a chance to progress. We’ve played so well in these last two games and haven’t got anything out of it.
“It’s a cruel game at times and unfortunately we are on the wrong end of two results.
“As for the group now, if we go and win our two games we will give ourselves a great chance but you have to beat two of the best teams in the world to do that.”
TBR’s View
Dallas’ form for his country has been sensational in recent games and Leeds fans will not be surprised.
He ended last season in great form and has carried that level of performance into the new season at Elland Road.
No matter where he is asked to play, Dallas always puts in his best possible display and fans have certainly been impressed so far this season.
Hopefully, after the international break, such form can help Leeds back to the top of the Championship.
