Stuart Dallas has been speaking about interacting with Leeds United fans, despite the current lockdown in the UK due to the global health crisis.

The Northern Ireland winger, who has been one of the star players in Leeds United’s season up until the recent postponement, was speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post this week.

The 29-year-old admitted that he was still able to talk to Leeds fans, from a safe distance, from his front garden.

However, when it came to potentially sending video messages to Leeds United fans on social media, he admitted he had to draw a line.

“It’s good – if I’m out in the front garden and somebody walks up past, the majority of them are Leeds fans, they stop and talk.

“It’s nice to be able to talk about the club and the position we’re in. It’s a lot nicer for people to be asking what’s going to happen with everything going on, with us in a great position, than it would be to be talking if we were bottom of the league.

“Social media is good; we’ve a lot of followers because of Leeds. I get quite a few requests for video messages and, if you start one you’ll have to do 10,000, so I’ll keep that for a rainy day.”

Leeds United’s following online extends far beyond West Yorkshire and the rest of England.

The club have vast followings in the rest of the UK and the Republic of Ireland as well as Scandinavia and, thanks to the presence of Marcelo Bielsa, a growing fanbase in Rosario, Argentina.

So undoubtedly, any potential video messaging to the Leeds supporters asking for such a response would have Dallas occupied for a pretty long time.

But as he said, a rainy day could see him make plenty of Leeds United fans around the globe very happy.
