‘Strings to his bow’: Some Arsenal fans love what Thomas Partey did against Qatar last night

Arsenal newcomer Thomas Partey put in a much-improved display for Ghana as they ran out 5-1 winners over Qatar last night.

The Gunners deadline day signing was in action for the Black Stars against Mali in Turkey last week but, along with most of the team, struggled in the 3-0 defeat.

However, both Partey and Ghana were a different proposition last night as they made light work of the Asian champions and 2022 World Cup hosts in Antalya.

The 27-year-old played a big part in his side’s victory with two assists, showing that as well as being a complete midfielder, he also provides plentiful ammunition for the front line.

After Ali Almoez cancelled out Tariqe Fosu’s opener for Ghana, Partey set up goals for Swansea forward Andre Ayew and Al-Fayha winger Samuel Owusu.

Needless to say there were plenty of fans delighted with Partey’s display and some took to Twitter:

Partey signed a long-term deal at the Emirates Stadium after he completed his medical and paperwork just before Monday’s 11pm deadline, the Gunners triggering his £45million release clause.

Arsenal are back in action on Saturday with a Premier League trip to Manchester City.
