Liverpool’s season continues to go from bad to worse.
Jurgen Klopp’s charges were rampant in the Premier League last term, but last night’s 1-0 loss to Chelsea at Anfield marked a new low.
It was the first time that Liverpool lost five league games at home, and the seventh defeat in their last 13 league games.
To make matters worse, a controversial substitution by Jurgen Klopp left one of Anfield’s main stars looking visibly frustrated.
Mohamed Salah was substituted just after the hour, a decision which baffled a lot of fans and pundits, and potentially the player himself.
“I can see Mo Salah there he’s sat on the bench shaking his head and muttering to himself – he’s not very happy,” Chris Sutton told BBC Sport (21:38).
“It was a strange call really, Salah’s not had a particularly good game but neither have any of the Liverpool players.”
Nobody could’ve missed Salah’s cold reaction to coming off and his glum expression after the substitution, and it’s something that will surely be debated for days to come.
Chances are, the £200,000-a-week star was simply frustrated with the situation.
His performance wasn’t stellar, and obviously things aren’t good at Anfield right now, so that will have weighed on his mind in the moment.
