Celtic have completed the signing of Moritz Bauer on a season-long loan deal from English Championship side Stoke City, in a move that includes an option to buy permanently – and Stoke fans have reacted on Twitter.
The 27-year-old was out of favour at Stoke, being considered a player that was not entirely into the idea of playing for a side in the second tier of English football. Joining Stoke in January 2018, he managed just 26 outings for the Potters.
Celtic have needed a right-back for the majority of the window, after losing Mikael Lustig to Gent while Jeremy Toljan returned to Borussia Dortmund following his loan spell at Parkhead. The Hoops have brought in Hatem Abd Elhamed.

The latter has started well but Neil Lennon has used Kristoffer Ajer on the right side of defence of late, instead of bringing in Anthony Ralston into the senior side. Now, former Rubin Kazan defender Bauer has been signed to add cover.
The defender was bought for a whopping £4million (Telegraph) 18 months ago, and is renowned for his pace from the right side of defence. His aerial prowess is also impressive, and he can do a job in the mdidle of defence.
Stoke City fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that their player has left the club to join Celtic on a loan-to-buy deal for the 2019-20 campaign, and many believe it is a good move for the Switzerland international.
He’ll do really well there I reckon. Good move

The Bauer deal seems a good move for all parties. He will be quality in the SPL to be fair.

Tbh Bauer’s head went when we got relegated like a few here he thought he was better than the championship, everytime he played in the championship he didn’t perform at all.
In your league will probably be a different story you beat everyone anyway 🤷🏻♂️

Yes I would say he has the potential to be very good for you. Good luck to him and to Celtic for the rest of the season 🙂
