‘Still love him’ – Liverpool fans discuss Philippe Coutinho’s wonder goal against rivals Manchester United

Philippe Coutinho’s Barcelona dumped Manchester United out of the Champions League.

Philippe Coutinho scored a trademark long-range goal in the Champions League quarter-final against Manchester United last night.

Barcelona midfielder Coutinho, was used to star in Liverpool’s team, scored a goal that Reds fans saw so often.

Cutting inside from a central-left position, the Brazilian curled a long-range strike into the top corner, leaving David De Gea with no chance.

With Barcelona already 2-0 up on the night and 3-0 up on aggregate, Coutinho’s goal just added to Man United’s embarrassment.

And given his links to Liverpool, it would have made the moment even sweeter for the 26-year-old.

Liverpool fans perceive Coutinho differently. Some criticise him for forcing a move to Barcelona, while others remember just how good he was in a red shirt.

The skilful midfielder netted 54 goals in 201 games for Liverpool after completing a switch from Inter Milan.

After his goal in the Champions League last night, Liverpool fans swarmed to social media to discuss Coutinho’s performance and wonder strike against the Red Devils.
