'Still has lead in his boots': Some Arsenal fans slam ex-hero after 'banter' moment last night

Poland secured a late point against England last night, and former Arsenal star Wojciech Szczesny would have been the most relieved man in the stadium.

The now Juventus star was partially at fault for the hosts going behind as Szczesny allowed Harry Kane’s long-range strike to slip past him, putting Poland 1-0 down in the second half.

However, with Damian Szymanski headed in a 92nd-minute equaliser. With Poland securing a huge point against England, Szczesny escaped scrutiny from the Polish press and supporters.

However, Arsenal supporters on social media had not let their former hero off the hook just yet. With Kane scoring against Poland from long-range, Szczesny faced criticism from fans for allowing a Spurs player to score from way out.

Despite leaving Arsenal on rocky terms, Szczesny has retained a strong relationship with the north London side. The Juventus number one regularly posts on social media following a big result from the Gunners.

Indeed, the keeper is a self-proclaimed Arsenal fan. But last night, supporters were critical of Szczesny for his error that saw Kane score against Poland.
