Former Arsenal star Stewart Robson has told ESPN that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is suffering from a lack of confidence right now.
The Gunners ace was guilty of missing a gilt-edged chance during last night’s 1-1 draw with Benfica, with Arsenal’s place in the last 16 hanging in the balance.
Arsenal did claim a vital away goal through Bukayo Saka and that could prove important in the context of the tie.

Robson spent six years with Arsenal before heading onto West Ham and Coventry City.
The ex-midfielder thought Aubameyang was poor in one sense last night and feels his confidence isn’t sky-high.
He told ESPN: “Well today his movement was quite good, he kept on running in behind, he timed most of his runs quite well, he was playing right on the offside line all the time and he was threatening.
“It was his finishing that was so poor. He was through one on one with the goalkeeper and it shows a lack of confidence.
“Aubamyeang’s not playing with full confidence at the moment and I don’t think he’s quite at his sharpest. His movement today was quite good though.”
TBR View: Off night for Aubameyang but confidence should be high
Robson has a point that the Gabonese striker was wasteful in front of goal last night but there shouldn’t be any fears over his confidence.
The £250,000-a-week star scored a hat-trick against Leeds at the weekend and showed glimpses of his very best.

Aubameyang’s sitter will have set him back a little bit but the signs have been there in recent weeks that he is edging closer to his best form.
Mikel Arteta will hope for more from the striker who has found the net just 11 times during 2020/21.
Robson clearly wasn’t satisfied with his finishing last night and the 31-year-old will hope to put that right this weekend against Manchester City.
